GLOBAL HUNGER CRISIS: CHILDREN ARE DYING BECAUSE OF MALNUTRITION AND DISEASE
Faisa* is a mother of seven, raising her family in drought-hit Somalia. When her seven-month-old daughter Ikran* became dangerously malnourished, Faisa walked for miles to reach a stabilisation centre.
But when they arrived, the clinic had already run out of therapeutic milk – a special treatment babies like Ikran need to survive. Staff were forced to create substitutes, but recovery was slow.
Now, thanks to renewed funding, therapeutic milk is back on shelves. Ikran is gaining strength. But the centre’s supplies were only guaranteed until June this year. Beyond that, the future is uncertain.
"Without this clinic, I couldn’t have afforded treatment for my daughter," says Faisa.
Unless support is renewed, children like Ikran will have nowhere to turn.
Your donation today can keep lifesaving treatment flowing , and give children like Ikran the chance to survive and thrive. Please donate now to help save a life.

URGENT: HUNGER THREATENS MILLIONS OF CHILDREN
As conflict, climate crisis, and economic collapse intensify, millions of children are being pushed to the brink of starvation. The number of children facing life-threatening hunger is rising fast, while the funding that supports life-saving nutrition is disappearing. Over 16 million children under 5 are facing severe, potentially fatal malnutrition each year.
Across the globe, therapeutic food supplies are running out. Health centres are being forced to shut. Medical staff are working without pay. Children are dying from a condition that is entirely preventable: malnutrition.
In Somalia, 18 health and nutrition centres have already closed.
In Afghanistan, 21 clinics risk closure, affecting 1.5 million people.
In South Sudan, 800,000 children may lose access to care.
Malnutrition is already claiming young lives across the globe. Without urgent action, many more children will die in the coming months.
Hunger should not be part of any childhood. Donating now will make a difference to children. Together we can stop hunger.

the power to save lives: why therapeutic food matters?
Historically, severely malnourished children could only be treated in health facilities and stabilisation centres, and most were never reached at all. With the creation of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), the picture has changed dramatically.
RUTF is a powerful peanut-based paste packed with nutrients. It’s:
Easy to store – no refrigeration needed
Ready to eat – no cooking or preparation required
Safe anywhere – effective even without clean drinking water
Simple to give at home – parents can easily administer
Proven - 90% success rate in treating severe acute malnutrition
For many children, RUTF is the difference between life and death. Just six weeks of treatment — $67 — can save a life.
